The Energy Saving System is a customised lighting solution designed to maximise energy efficiency in stairwells, car parks, and warehouses.

It pairs integrated LED battens with advanced sensors and receivers to deliver intelligent, automated lighting control, available in 2 configurations:

  • Standalone Microwave Sensor Units:Operate independently, dimming and brightening based on local motion detection at each fixture.
  • Wireless RF Mesh Network:Units communicate with each other over 433MHz, so motion at one fixture triggers a coordinated lighting response across the whole area.

Standby state

When no motion is detected, the battens dim to 20% of rated power.

When motion is detected

When sensor picks up motion, brightness is ramped up to 100% for 1-9 minutes.

Why energy efficient

Triggered by motion,
chosen for savings

Electricity costs

Standard battens draw full rated power around the clock. Ours hold at 20% output until motion is detected, then ramp to 100% for just the 1-9 minute hold time needed.

Simplified Battery Maintenance

The emergency battery module sits separately on the side of the batten, secured with just two screws which allows quick and easy removal for service or replacement.

Reliability & Longevity

Manufactured by a specialist emergency lighting company, every fitting is engineered for reliability and minimal maintenance with long-life LEDs rated for 50,000 hours and high-performance LiFePO4 lithium batteries with a design lifespan of up to 7 years.

Ease of Installation & Maintenance

Our LED battens use a tool-accessible design. A single screw lets technicians slide out the base for full access to internal components. The wide-body profile simplifies replacement and covers existing wall marks, so there's no re-painting or re-plastering needed.

How it works

From standby to full brightness

  1. Standby

When no motion is detected, battens dim to 20% output, conserving energy while maintaining baseline light.

  2. Motion detected

When movement is detected, it triggers the batten to 100% brightness, held for an user adjustable 1-9 minutes.

  3. Wireless mesh communication

The sensor sends a signal to all receivers within 35m through walls/concrete, or 100m line-of-sight.

  4. Group Activation

Every receiver in range lights up together, creating one seamless, well-lit pathway.

Wireless mesh communication and group activiation applies to systems fitted with RF receivers only.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Energy Saving System?

A customised lighting solution for stairwells, car parks and warehouses. It pairs integrated LED battens with advanced sensors and receivers to deliver intelligent, automated lighting control.

What's the difference between the Standalone and RF Mesh systems?

Standalone Microwave Sensor Units operate independently, responding to local motion detection at each fitting. A Wireless RF Mesh Network lets units communicate wirelessly so multiple battens respond together in a coordinated response.

What triggers the sensor?

Movement such as a person or vehicle within range of the microwave sensor.

How far does the RF mesh network reach?

Wireless sensors transmit via 433MHz to all compatible receivers within 35 metres through walls and concrete slabs, or up to 100 metres line-of-sight.

What happens across the network when one sensor detects motion?

Any fitting with a receiver in range activates to full brightness at the same time, creating one coordinated, seamlessly lit pathway rather than just the triggered fitting.

How long do the LEDs and batteries last?

LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours, and the system uses high-performance LiFePO4 lithium batteries with a design lifespan of up to 7 years.
